The Administrative Medical Assistant will work collaboratively with all clinical staff, including KSM providers, by performing clinical administrative duties and care coordination tasks as directed by the Clinical Supervisor or Nurse Manager. Candidate will:
- Possess an in-depth knowledge of KSM clinic procedures and protocols, along with knowledge of patient care procedures, lab procedures, electronic medical record documentation, medical terminology, and sanitation practices.
- Ensure quality patient services are provided at all KSM clinics.
- Perform duties as assigned, willingly accept new assignments, and proactively identify other tasks that need to be completed.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Clinical Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist chart preparations by accurately databasing non-interfacing lab results into the appropriate electronic health record
- Upload clinical documents into the electronic health record
- Route documents and lab results to nursing and/or provider for review
- Maintain and manage the lab error interface workqueue
- Complete provider orders per protocol
- Care Coordination
- Assist Clinical Medical Assistants with outgoing referral orders, and ensure completion per protocol
- Fax referral and records to appropriate location
- Assist patients with scheduling appointments
- Follow up on missed appointments and attempt to reschedule
- Complete Close the Loop procedures
- General
- Accurately document all information as required by company, state, and federal guidelines
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Train other clinical staff on job duties, policies, or procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the practice, and proactively identify other tasks that need to be addressed or completed
- Demonstrate professional behavior in interactions with all patients, KSM employees, and affiliated associates.
- Ability and means to travel as needed.
- Ability to assist on the clinic floor as needed.
- Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma required, formal medical assistant training preferred
- Experience: 1+ years of patient care, data entry, and/or Epic experience
