We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated team member for the position of Administrative/Technical Project Assistant. The Administrative/Technical Project Assistant will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative and technical support to the engineering team including but not limited to project managers, right-of-way, and all other team members as needed. Additionally, the position is responsible for performing routine and complex administrative and technical duties.
Essential Job Functions:
Assist project managers and others as needed with project related tasks
Establish internal positive relationships
Maintain confidentiality
Process incoming/outgoing mail, UPS and FedEx
Assist with ordering and maintaining supplies
Arrange meetings, tasks, travel as needed
Utilize Microsoft Office software as well as other software and equipment
Utilize effective written and oral communication
Have a strong work ethic and be a self-starter, able to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced environment
Must have valid driver’s license and be able to operate motorized vehicles
Regular, reliable, consistent, and punctual attendance is required
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to fulfill job function or as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of administrative support techniques and procedures
Skill in oral and written communication
Skill to use tact, discretion, and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive situations and concerned property owners
Ability to exercise independent thinking, creativity, and initiative
Ability to work independently
Ability to work well under pressure
Demonstrate ability to communicate well with a positive & friendly manner both orally and in writing
Demonstrate the ability to accept responsibility for and work under occasional stressful situations with frequent interruptions
Demonstrate desire to learn new skills as technologies change
Demonstrate the ability to multi-task
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree in a related field, Associate’s degree in related field and/or two (2) years of applicable work experience
Office suite software (including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate motorized vehicles
Physical Requirements:
Seeing: Must be able to read computer screen and various reports. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus 75-100%
Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers and business contacts. 75-100%
Sitting/Standing/Walking: 75-100%
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 75-100%
Lifting & Moving/Pulling/Pushing:: (frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds and infrequently move up to 50 pounds) 0-24%
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type and use phone system. 75-100%
