Job Description - Admissions Coordinator


POSITION SUMMARY:      Coordinates the daily operation of and plans for all pre-admission and admission activities.  This individual is responsible for reviewing documentation for appropriateness of admissions, coordination of all admissions with other departments through the collection, assembly and distribution of appropriate patient information, and obtaining appropriate signatures on all admission documents.  Ensures reports are completed accurately for month/year end, performs all data processing duties in accordance with generally accepted data processing principles, as well as other duties assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:   

  1. Current license as an LPN with at least five years of healthcare experience
  2. Minimum of three years’ experience in Data processing, preferably in a hospital setting
  3. Ability to collect, organize and evaluate pertinent clinical information with effective verbal and written skills.
  4. Insurance Verification experience
  5. Strong customer service skills
  6. Strong computer skills Microsoft office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  7. Must be able to read, write, and speak English
