We are seeking an experienced Admissions Coordinator to join our Cherrydale, Virginia, location. This is a key role responsible for driving census growth, managing the admissions process, and building strong relationships within the community. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) and extensive experience working with hospitals, referral sources, and families to ensure a smooth transition for incoming residents. This position is ideal for a results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at communication and relationship management.
Manage the entire admissions process, from initial inquiry to resident placement, ensuring compliance with all regulations and facility policies.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, discharge planners, case managers, and other referral sources to drive consistent patient referrals.
Conduct on-site visits to hospitals and other healthcare facilities to promote MFA’s services and build brand awareness.
Assess potential residents for clinical and financial eligibility, working closely with the clinical team to determine appropriate placements.
Oversee insurance verifications and approvals, ensuring a seamless financial process for residents and their families.
Coordinate resident move-ins and transitions, providing families with clear communication and support throughout the process.
Maintain detailed records of admissions, referrals, and census data, providing regular reports to leadership.
Work collaboratively with marketing and outreach teams to execute strategic initiatives that enhance facility visibility.
Provide exceptional customer service to families, ensuring a positive experience during the admission process.
Must have prior experience in skilled nursing admissions (candidates without skilled nursing experience will not be considered).
Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance processes related to skilled nursing admissions.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, and other referral sources.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively guide families through the admissions process.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and data management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Must reside in the Arlington, Virginia area or have strong community ties.
Base salary: $75,000 - $85,000 (commensurate with experience).
Commission structure based on admissions performance.
