SUMMARY OF DUTIES
As an Adult Protective Services Supervisor you will:
Direct and supervise employees and programs in a team environment. The employees supervised by this position provide adult protective services within Washington County. This position also utilizes detailed knowledge of local community resources to maximize effective service delivery for clients and to integrate APD programs in the community. This position uses program and technical knowledge and skills and abilities to plan, organize, and monitor the operations of a team of employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Four years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience;
OR
One year of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or human services.
ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES
Experience promoting a culture of equitable treatment, belonging, and commitment to ODHS’ mission to actively foster an anti-racist workplace.
Experience using trauma-informed de-escalation tactics in response to time sensitive or tense situations to guide peaceful resolutions to disputes or perceived disputes.
Experience communicating in writing and verbally with individuals or groups who learn and/or communicate differently than you, demonstrating active listening and respect for others’ contributions and ideas by incorporating input received into solutions and follow up actions.
Experience and knowledge with Adult Protective Services regulatory standards and compliance.

WORKING CONDITIONS
May be required to work a flexible work schedule as a condition of employment. This is understood to mean that the hours of work may vary from day to day and could include evenings and weekends under certain circumstances. Work schedule specifics will be determined by the hiring supervisor. Work is based in the Beaverton and will work out of the Tigard APD Office as well. May drive a variety of different types of vehicles to remote places in a variety of terrain and possibly inclement weather. A valid driver’s license is required and a clean driving record.

The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship.
