Summary:

Provides psychiatric care at the physician level with the knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patient served.

Requirements

Education, Training or Certifications Required:

1. Board Certification.
2. Credentialed by the MDI Hospital Medical Staff to practice Psychiatry.
3. Maintains membership in the Active Medical Staff at MDI Hospital in good standing.
4. DEA certified.

Experience Required:

Five years of post-residency clinical practice preferred.

1. Emotional maturity and good people skills required.
2. Ability to work with distressed or anxious patients or family members.
3. Ability to take in, process and apply clinical information in a wide variety of patient care situations.
4. Ability to learn new techniques, skills, and treatments and incorporate them into current practice.
5. Ability to process and interpret complex information.

Physical Demands:

1. Ability to stand/walk for up to eight hours per day, bend, stoop and twist.
2. Able to perform under stress.

1. Potential for exposure to blood and body fluids.
2. Potential for exposure to infectious diseases.
