Adv. Practice Clinician - Tupelo ED - Provider Champion

The Provider Champion shall be responsible for the following services:

1. Flow of the Department

The Provider Champion's focus is on flow throughout the emergency department. They should frequently check the waiting for provider list and help expedite the room to provider time. The Provider Champion is assigned to the PAT and Results Waiting Area and focuses on reducing discharge length of stay. They also work with nursing staff to monitor patients in the lobby, review complete workups, and aid in sorting the lobby.

2. Collaborate With On Shift Nursing Leadership

The Provider Champion will serve as the primary collaborator between the on-shift provider group and charge nurse. Any questions, issues, or needs are communicated through the Provider Champion. The Provider Champion will also keep the charge nurse informed of any real time support/need to aid in patient flow.

3. Communication

The provider champion should communicate with hospital and Relias leadership and other team members in a professional and courteous manner, with an effort to serve and meet the needs of improving the Emergency Department. They should communicate all complaints (staff, Facility, and patient) to Relias administration, the site coordinator, Relias Medical Director, and work with Relias to remedy, improve or educate others.

4. Metric Improvement

The provider champion will assist in developing plans for and implementation of flow improvement processes within the Emergency Department.

Qualifications:

• APC with 1 year of full-time experience in the Tupelo emergency department

• Maintains all necessary licenses and certifications required for clinical care.

• Capable of delivering results under tight timelines and high-pressure situations.

• Communicates in a professional and approachable manner.

• Familiar with the flow in the Tupelo emergency department.

• Strong interpersonal skills with commitment to team-based collaboration.

Schedule

Block Schedule: 11am-11pm Sunday-Friday every other week
