Founded in early 2022, Project Re:Car spent its formative months establishing a leadership team and the product definition.

Who we are looking for:
Re:Car is looking for an energetic, organized, and experienced Cell/ Module Design Engineer to join our growing Battery team. You will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing Module design. You will be Responsible for selection of cells and design, development for the Module and module to pack integrations from new concept through production launch and ramp for different cell formats.

What you get to do:

Develop, validate, and release Advanced battery cells for the HV battery.

Establish test procedures (including instrumentation, fixturing, test environment) to fulfill DVPR requirements.

Lead battery cell suppliers to ensure fulfillment of component and performance specifications.

Work with the engineering lab and internal/external test facilities to complete HV battery cell testing.

Use structured problem-solving methods to identify root cause for propulsion system issues and integrate corrective actions into new & existing designs.

Generate ideas to reduce product cost and improve quality.

Analyze data, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations of technical results to the management team.

Schedule work including issuing work orders, monitor progress, and resolve problems in order to ensure completion of projects.

Conduct and thoroughly document project work, draw conclusions, and make recommendations and review with management.

Create project plans and timelines and assist management with defining budget requirements.

Promptly resolve plant build issues and field problems.

Participate in component integration events, fabricating and testing first-of-a-kind battery prototypes to validate cell and module design choices.

What you bring to the team

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, Physics (ABET Accredited University).

Requires 2-3 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge & experience of high voltage battery technologies and energy management.

Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Experience identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems.

Ability to manage multiple projects and inform management of any barriers.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

High level of analytical skills.

Strong organizational skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and able to effectively work in a diverse multi-cultural environment.

Experience with MATLAB Simulink.

Strong PC skills including MS Office and database tools.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have:

Master of Science in Electrochemistry (ABET Accredited University).

>5 years of experience with electrochemistry of battery cells

Prior experience at an EV OEM or experience with LFP battery cells

Hands-on experience in building battery cells

Familiar with electrochemical techniques for cell validation
