POSITION SUMMARY
The Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health conditions. The role requires a high level of expertise in psychiatric nursing and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

- Incorporates the six principles of trauma informed care throughout all aspects of their work.
- Conducts thorough psychiatric assessments of patients to identify mental health issues and formulate treatment plans.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement holistic care plans for patients.
- Prescribes and managing psychotropic medications in accordance with best practices and guidelines.
- Provides individual and group therapy to support patients in managing their mental health conditions.
- Monitors and evaluating patients' progress and making appropriate adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Educates patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Master's degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the state of Indiana.
- Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
(PMHNP)
- Proven experience providing psychiatric care to diverse patient
populations
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based treatment
modalities for mental health disorders.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
- Proficiency in using electronic health records and other healthcare
technology
