Full Time: Minimum of 40 hours per week

Summary 

We are seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Advanced Practice Provider to join our orthopedic team in a dynamic, full-scope role.  This position will support multiple orthopedic service lines, including general orthopedics, trauma, joint reconstruction, spine, and sports medicine, with responsibilities spanning both the operating room and outpatient clinic.  The right person for this role will be nimble, a strong communicator, and have a self-starter mentality.  This is an excellent opportunity for an APP who enjoys variety, collaboration, and developing a broad orthopedic skill set. 

This role will primarily be Monday through Friday with a mix of clinic and surgery in a busy elective surgical practice; weekend rounds and occasional call coverage are required (a nominal stipend is offered). 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Perform comprehensive and problem-focused history and physical exams. 
  • First assist in the operating room across multiple orthopedic subspecialities. 
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients in the outpatient clinic setting. 
  • Perform procedures such as joint injections, aspirations, and wound care. 
  • Provide perioperative care including pre-op assessments and post-op follow-ups. 
  • Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons and multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Participate in inpatient rounds and consults where needed. 
  • Evaluate changes in patient conditions. 
  • Issue orders for medications, treatments, and lab tests. 
  • Provide surgical first assistant coverage in the operating room as needed for his high-volume surgery days and complex cases. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of how to perform H&Ps, fills out consents, prescriptions all within a timely manner. 
  • Document all patient care actions in the EMR timely and accurately. 
  • Excellent suturing skills are a must. 
  • Proficiency in reading advanced imaging (x-rays, MRIs, CTs). 

Requirements

  Education, Licensure and/or Experience Required 

  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. 
  • Active licensure in the State of Colorado is required. 
  • Advanced Practice Nurses MUST have surgical first assist certification to be considered. 
  • Orthopedic experience preferred, but motivated new graduates with strong clinical training will be considered. 
  • Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, organization, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment. 

Schedule and Expectations 

  • Full-time role with a mix of OR and clinic days 
  • Weekend rounds at times (nominal stipend provided) 
  • Limited call (nominal stipend provided) 

 Pay information: $106k to $160k/annually, depending on years of experience.
