Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division is seeking a Systems Modeling Simulation Engineer / Principal Systems Modeling Simulation Engineer. This position will be in Huntsville, AL supporting the Advanced Programs organization.\n\nThe qualified applicant will support the Advanced Programs Mission Engineering Team and focus on performing operational analyses for both offensive and defensive weapon systems. Other modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS\u0026A) projects will be within scope. \n\nThis position will specifically focus on the development and analysis of models and simulations utilizing the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) Framework. Additionally, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to perform the following scope of work:\n\n * Select, define, and develop appropriate representations of a system(s) or system element(s).\n * Use those representations to derive actionable information about the real system.\n * Interpret AFSIM output, validate it against Technical Performance Metrics (TPMs), and draw conclusions that guide weapon-system performance improvements.\n * Provide technical leadership and own defined portions of the AFSIM modeling and simulation product.\n * Translate simulation results into clear data metrics and support briefings to Northrop Grumman leadership and customers.\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\nThis requisition may be filled at either the Systems Modeling Simulation Engineer level (T-02) or Principal Modeling Simulation Systems Engineer level (T-03).\n\n * Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer: Bachelor of Science in a STEM field and 2 years of related experience, OR Master of Science in a STEM field and 0 years of related experience \n * Principal Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer: Bachelor of Science in a STEM field and 5 years of related experience, OR Master of Science in a STEM field and 3 years of related experience, OR PhD in STEM field and 1 year of related experience\n * Must be a US Citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years \n * Demonstrated experience using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) \n * Proficient with MATLAB or Python\n * Comfortable communicating technical information to technical and non-technical customers\n * Demonstrated experience with threat and weapon system modeling\n * Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team setting, both virtually and in-person\n * Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Active DoD Top Secret Clearance\n * Experience in one of the following systems with the ability to model the system in AFSIM: Radar, Guidance Navigation \u0026 Control \n * (GNC), or Command \u0026 Control (C2) systems\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in systems Engineering or other STEM degree\n * Familiarity with Multidisciplinary Design Analysis and Optimization (MDAO) tools and the ability to integrate external subsystem outputs into AFSIM for mission-performance assessments.\n * Domain knowledge in missile defense or offensive military capabilities\n * Experience using agile development methodologies \n\n\n\nAs a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including: \n\n * Medical, Dental \u0026 Vision coverage \n * 401k \n * Educational Assistance \n * Life Insurance \n * Employee Assistance Programs \u0026 Work/Life Solutions \n * Paid Time Off \n * Health \u0026 Wellness Resources \n * Employee Discounts \n\n\n\nThis position\u2019s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.\n\n#Sentinelsystems\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
