Job Summary

The Family Engagement Strategy & Capacity Building Advisor provides strategic leadership for the district's family engagement vision through the design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of systems, communications, professional learning, and engagement initiatives that strengthen outcomes for students and families. This position leads district-wide family engagement strategy, marketing and communications efforts, data and evaluation systems, caregiver voice initiatives, and staff capacity building while supervising assigned team members and/or contractors and serving as a key advisor and cross-functional partner to school and district leadership.

What you will do
  • Provides strategic support for district-wide family and community engagement initiatives by designing, implementing, and continuously improving systems, programs, and frameworks that strengthen family-school partnerships and align with district priorities, student outcomes, and organizational goals.
  • Drives the development, facilitation, and evaluation of high-quality professional learning, curriculum, toolkits, and capacity-building experiences for school staff, caregivers, and community stakeholders to strengthen engagement practices and increase impact across schools.
  • Develops and executes district-level family engagement communication and marketing strategies including digital campaigns, branding, storytelling, multimedia communications, social media management, audio/video production, publications, and content creation to increase awareness, participation, and community connection.
  • Drives the development and implementation of data collection systems, surveys, dashboards, evaluation tools, and analytics processes to measure engagement effectiveness, monitor outcomes, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to district leadership.
  • Designs and facilitates district-wide family and caregiver voice structures including listening sessions, advisory groups, focus groups, surveys, and feedback loops to ensure stakeholder experiences directly inform strategy, decision-making, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Builds and manages strategic partnerships with internal departments, school leaders, community organizations, vendors, and external stakeholders to expand resources, strengthen alignment, and support district priorities related to family and community engagement.
  • Provides consultation, coaching, and strategic guidance to school and district leaders to strengthen family engagement practices, improve implementation fidelity, and increase organizational capacity.
  • Establishes and maintains scalable processes, procedures, resources, and operational systems that support effective implementation, documentation, communication, and sustainability of family engagement initiatives district-wide.
  • Prepares reports, presentations, recommendations, and executive-level communications for district leadership using quantitative and qualitative data to inform decisions, demonstrate impact, and support strategic initiatives.

Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field Required

Experience Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of related experience Required

Skills and Abilities
  • Experience leading district-wide family engagement strategy (Medium proficiency)
  • Experience with adult learning and professional development design (High proficiency)
  • Strong data analytics and survey methodology (Medium proficiency)
  • Experience with marketing, communications, branding, and multimedia production (Medium proficiency)
  • Experience with social media strategy and digital engagement (Medium proficiency)
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and executive communication skills (High proficiency)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives (Medium proficiency)
  • Experience with continuous improvement and evaluation frameworks (Medium proficiency)

Equivalency

    Starting At: $71,045.96

    Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
