Job Description:
Velocity Investments is a specialized financial services firm that focuses on acquiring and managing distressed receivables.   We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Affidavit Specialist to join our Operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing legal documents, ensuring compliance, and supporting our Attorney Management team.  This position is in office with the potential to become a hybrid 1 day work from home 4 in office, after a successful probationary period. The schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-5PM EST with a one-hour unpaid lunch.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Review incoming attorney Affidavit requests for accuracy and completeness.

  • Approve, sign, or reject affidavits and return them as necessary.

  • Log, scan, and track approved and signed affidavits.

  • Collaborate with the Attorney Management team to ensure compliance and fulfillment of affidavit requests.

  • Log, generate, track, and request issuer affidavits as needed by firms.

  • Log, scan, and send all received signed issuer affidavits to the requesting firms.

  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of all documentation related to Velocity products.

  • Stay informed about procedures affecting Velocity suits and communicate any changes to mid and upper-level management.

  • Sign and respond to other legal documents from firms.

  • Testify on behalf of Velocity in person or telephonically regarding the contents of documentation in Velocity cases with various firms.

  • Other duties as required.


Qualifications:



  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Familiarity with legal documents and procedures is a plus.

  • Proficiency in using office software and document management systems.

  • Must be a certified notary or have the ability to become one.
