Location: Crespo Elementary School \n\nDepartment: Crespo ES \n\nArea:South \n\nContract Months:12 \n\nSalary Range: $50,000.00 \u2013 $60,000.00 \n\nAcademic Year: 26-27 \n\n## JOB SUMMARY\n\nThe After School Specialist 2 plays a key role in providing specialized expertise and oversight in a specific area at the campus level. This position requires in-depth knowledge, technical skills, and the ability to analyze and solve complex problems. The Specialist 2, After School Programs collaborates with campus administrators to support after-school program activities. The Specialist 2 implements systems during the after-school hours to ensure the program operates efficiently and with fidelity.\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n1. Provide subject matter expertise and support in a specific area, offering guidance and recommendations to administrators, teachers, and contracted service providers. \n2. Conduct in-depth research, analysis, and evaluation of data, trends, and industry best practices to support decision-making processes. \n3. Develop and implement strategies, programs, and initiatives to address specific campus- level needs and objectives. \n4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver training programs, workshops, or educational materials related to the after-school program. \n5. Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards. \n6. Analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and propose innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. \n7. Participate in the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and evaluate the success of initiatives. \n8. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and facilitate the implementation of changes. \n \n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED\n\n * 9. Assist in the management and execution of projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. \n10. Provide expertise in using relevant software applications, tools, and systems to optimize data analysis, reporting, and tracking. \n11. Prepare and present reports, presentations, and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders. \n12. Stay up to date with emerging trends, technologies, and advancements in the assigned area of expertise. \n13. Act as a resource person and provide training and guidance to after-school team members as needed. \n14. Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining effective communication and collaboration. \n15. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice, and training to staff.\n\n## WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT\n\nWork involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Independent judgment is often required to select and apply the most appropriate of available resources. Ongoing supervision is provided on an \"as needed\" basis. \n \n\n## BUDGET AUTHORITY\n\nNo budget development activity is required. \n \n\n## PROBLEM SOLVING\n\nDecisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude, but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.\n\n## IMPACT OF DECISIONS\n\nFollows rules and procedures. Decisions can have minimal or no impact to HISD. Errors can be readily detected, usually by the employee, and, if made, would result in minor expense for correction. \n \n\n## COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS\n\nInformation sharing - gives and receives information such as options, technical direction, instructions and reporting results. Interactions are mostly with customers, own supervisor and coworkers in own and other departments. \n \n\n## CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS\n\nFollows through with customer inquiries, requests and complaints.
