After School Teacher Assistant

The After School Teacher Assistant/Aide ensures that the classroom learning environment is Christian-based, nurturing, wholesome and loving.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Be an active, engaged member of the school community

Efficiently Work with and Lead Alongside Age Level Teachers

· Assist the teacher in preparing the learning environment and implementing daily schedule and program elements

· Assist the teacher in implementing positive, age-appropriate classroom management and discipline procedures

· Along with the teacher, facilitate small group learning experiences for all students

· Attend all staff meetings, staff in-services and special events as required by the Director

· Understand and implement all building emergency procedures and state regulations regarding the care and education of children 3 to 13 years of age

Cultivate Positive Relationships with Children and Families 

· Connect relationally with children and parents

· Assist in caring for a student’s special needs, such as tying shoes, consoling, encouraging and administering minor first aid 

Other Administrative Leadership Responsibilities

· Is knowledgeable about Cherry Hills Christian policies and procedures and assists with day-to-day operations

· Assists in overseeing the maintenance of a clean, safe environment for school operations

POSITION TYPE: part-time, non-exempt

HOURS PER WEEK: 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm, flexible on scheduling days 

SUPERVISOR: Director of Preschool

SALARY RANGE: $17.45 - $21.75 (hourly)

QUALIFICATIONS

· A growing and evident commitment to Jesus Christ and a Biblical lifestyle that exhibits conduct consistent with CHC’s Essentials of Faith

· Those 18 years of age and above, must be able to pass a criminal background check and meet state requirements including fingerprinting, training, immunization, and health requirements

· Experience working with children

· Must have a flexible attitude with a servant’s heart

· Professional attitude and appearance
