Afterschool Enrichment Instructor

Description

This position supports the students in Happy Valley after the bell on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. We provide instruction through a variety of activities with a focus on innovation and invention!

Essential Functions 

• Lead youth participants in various activities 
• Implement and provide input on enrichment curriculum 
• Establish good rapport with parents and children 
• Keep accurate rosters and attendance records 
• Effectively communicate with supervisor, peers, school staff, parents and participants 
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for children 
• Reliably attend various hours Monday - Thursday

Requirements

Job Requirements 

• Must pass YMCA background check 
• Possess (or obtain within 30 days) a current CPR/AED & First Aid Certification 
• Experience working with children 
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation 
• Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate management techniques 
• Must have reliable transportation
