BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This is investigative and protective services work involving the enforcement of marine resource conservation laws, rules, and regulations and other laws within the jurisdiction of the Maine Marine Patrol. Responsibilities include patrolling an assigned coastal area; protecting marine resources, coastal property, and the public. Work includes investigating complaints and incidents; enforcing motor vehicle and other laws; and providing services and support to the homeless, mentally ill, addicts, victims of domestic abuse, hate crimes, abusive parents, and the public. Work is performed under general supervision.
Marine Patrol Officer – Areas of Vacancies
(Note: must live within 35 minutes or 25 miles of the identified center of patrol):
Division 1, Section 1 – Wells/Kennebunkport/Biddeford working for Sgt. Sinclair and Lt. White.
The Wells/Kennebunkport/Biddeford patrol center is the Kennebunk Police Department at 4 Summer Street.
Division I, Section 2 – Boothbay Harbor working for Sgt. Dean and Lt. White.
The Boothbay Harbor patrol center is the intersection of the River Rd and Rt. 27 Boothbay.
