Agronomy Trainee-Norwalk Agronomy

SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting in daily activities and trainings within the sales, operations and precision departments of Sunrise Cooperative as assigned by the Regional Sales Manager to gain a clear understanding of the agronomy retail business. This purpose will be achieved while upholding Sunrise Cooperative's goals and values and performed with the understanding that we are here to serve our customer owners.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Approach all tasks with safety, customer service, teamwork, and attention to detail in mind.
• Learn the strategies and technical information to be able to sell and service the Sunrise agronomy input product line.
• Perform sales call ride-a-longs with an Agronomy Solutions Advisor and Sunrise Precision Solution team members assigned by the Regional Sales Manager.
• Learning the Cross Sell Model including Discovery, Goal Setting, Action Plans and Team Communication.
• Field scouting and record keeping for Agronomy Solution Advisors assigned by the Regional Sales Manager and for the Operation Manager.
• Attend all Sunrise Agronomy sales meetings and training sessions.
• Assist agronomy/grain facilities in operational duties assigned by the Operations and/or Branch Manager.
• Assist the SPS Team with precision duties as assigned by SPS management, which could include:
• Collaborate with agronomy operations personnel on data collection (soil and tissue sampling, etc.)
• Assist Sunrise custom applicators with Rx maps and data work.flow
• Data collection from Sunrise plot and trial cooperators according to protocol
• Help keep employee software programs working and up to date
• Record daily activities using the Edge CRM tool.
• Work the required hours on a weekly basis to service the needs of the sales, operations and precision teams which will require weekend hours, including Sundays, during various times of the year.
• All other duties as assigned

Special Skills or Knowledge Required:

•  Foster Teamwork through open communication and commitment to taking care of the Sunrise customer in all divisions.

• Commitment to and understanding of the Sales Process and Solution Based Sales.

• Advanced computer skills and understanding of Precision Ag equipment displays and operation

• Analyze issues and use sound judgment while thinking strategically.

• Expected to maintain high levels of integrity and ethics.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to read, count, and complete fo1ms and documents.

• Ability to work long varied hours and days as business dictates.
