Aide - Preschool

Job Summary

Sacred Heart School is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Pre-K Aide to support the lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled learning environment for our youngest students. The Pre-K Aide assists with daily classroom activities, promotes positive social and emotional development, and helps create a classroom where children can grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with implementing daily lessons and classroom activities.


• Supervise students during classroom instruction, recess, lunch, and other school activities.


• Foster a warm, welcoming, and positive classroom environment that supports student learning and development.


• Encourage appropriate behavior through positive guidance and reinforcement.


• Assist students with daily routines, including arrival, dismissal, restroom breaks, handwashing, and snack time.


• Prepare classroom materials and maintain an organized, clean, and engaging learning environment.


• Support students with individual and small-group learning activities.


• Monitor student safety at all times and follow all school policies and procedures.


• Communicate professionally with teachers, staff, and families as directed.


• Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development as requested.


• Uphold and support the mission and Catholic values of Sacred Heart School.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in early childhood education preferred.


• Previous experience working with preschool or young children in a school, daycare, church, or similar setting preferred.


• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and families.


• Patient, dependable, flexible, and nurturing with strong communication and organizational skills.


• Practicing Catholic preferred; candidates of other faiths are welcome and must be respectful of and supportive of the Catholic mission and values of Sacred Heart School.
