Air Conditioning Operator (ACO)

Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting Air Conditioning Operator (ACO) to support the Nashville VA Medical Center located at 1310 24th Avenue South Nashville, TN 37212. Services will be delivered to all requesting departments throughout the facility on a range of shift schedules. If you accept employment with Ansible, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers.

Responsibilities

• Operate a large multi‑zone AC/chiller plant:
  • 3,000‑ton chillers
  • 175‑ton reciprocating chillers
  • CRAC units, pumps, motors, cooling towers
  • Chilled water and condenser water systems
• Maintain specialized environments (ORs, labs, BMT units, MRI, IT rooms)
• Perform hourly inspections and document pressures, temps, electrical readings
• Adjust room and system temperatures as needed
• Troubleshoot facility issues (plumbing, electrical, med gas, nurse call, etc.)
• Clean and maintain fan rooms
• Perform weekly/monthly PMs
• Maintain logbooks and conduct shift hand‑off meetings

Qualifications

• 12 months of commercial HVAC/building operations experience
• Must be capable of operating large‑scale chillers, AHUs, and hospital environmental systems
• Must respond to building system emergencies
• EPA 608 Universal certification required
• Must complete 45 days of on‑site VA training before working independently
• No sponsorship available.

All candidates must be able to:

• Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift


• Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist


• Lift up to 20 lbs


• Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance


• Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
