We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Logistics Coordinator based in Los Angeles, California, 90045, United States. This role involves coordinating and optimizing logistics operations, managing a team of dispatchers, ensuring stellar customer service, and maintaining compliance and safety standards in the airfreight industry.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the dispatching of airfreight shipments to ensure punctual delivery and adherence to customer requirements.
• Utilize transportation management systems to schedule, track shipments, update routes, and communicate with team members.
• Monitor various factors such as flight schedules and weather conditions impacting airfreight operations to proactively address any potential issues or delays.
• Optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs, considering factors such as traffic patterns and fuel consumption.
• Collaborate with other departments like operations and customer service to streamline processes and improve overall logistics performance.
• Lead a team of dispatchers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and productivity.
• Liaise with customers to address inquiries, resolve issues, and provide updates on shipment status.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including those pertaining to airfreight transportation.
• Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Utilize skills in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, Customer Service, Deliveries, Documentation, Computer Aided Dispatch, and Dispatching.• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions
• Familiarity with IBM AS/400 and Microsoft Office Suites, including Microsoft Excel
• Experience with 'About Time' software
• Strong customer service skills and experience
• Knowledge and experience with customs procedures and deliveries
• Proven ability to handle documentation tasks effectively
• Experience with Computer Aided Dispatch and dispatching processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field is preferred
• Previous experience in a logistics coordination role is desirable.
