Job Description - Airforce Art Coordinator

Role: Airforce Art Coordinator

Location: Washington, DC 20301 (Must be local to DMV – onsite at Pentagon most days)

Duration: Long term contract

Task Description

This position serves the SAF/AA office of the Air Force, based in the Pentagon.

Conduct/coordinate Inventories (worldwide), condition assessments, and monitoring of resulting ROS’ and LE investigations
Update database and file ROS/Investigations as required
Retrieve artwork (from bldg. and in area) for scanning to fulfill program needs and customer requests, and return same
Repair and re-organize art records folders and library items in records/art library room as needed
Eventually scan records to digitally archive and in preparation for database migration
Help with art viewings and installations and prepare all needed paperwork
Schedule customer appointments and prep artworks as needed
Ensure unit custodians are up to date and inventory current prior to any new loans
Consult art team for artworks that need minor repairs prior to loaning out
Search database for artworks that need descriptions/more research, and fill lacking fields as needed
Coordinate with HQ Historian, AFHRA and other scholarly or primary sources for information and context to add to database
Will help towards preparing database for eventual migration to new art collection management system
Assist with Records tracking to include work order monitoring and other records as needed
Make artwork labels/plaques for new artworks or for those that need replacement
Coordinate with Facilities branch to remove artwork from offices undergoing moves or repairs and then return artwork or catalogue into storage as needed
File/archive any paperwork or communications as required during the course of doing art program mission requirements

Required Skills/Level Of Experience

DOD Secret Clearance - Ability to obtain a CAC card to access DOD buildings.
Local to DMV
Driver’s License
Basic MS Office (Excel & PPT) skills needed.
