Since 1980, Abby’s Aircraft Catering has delivered elevated culinary and hospitality experiences to private, corporate, and commercial aviation clients. Our operations also support corporate dining, institutional food service, and large-scale catering across the Southwest.
As we expand—including the launch of our Dallas operation—we are building an HR function that supports growth while remaining practical, compliant, and people-centered.
Position Summary
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for building, leading, and scaling the HR function across Abby’s Catering locations, with an immediate focus on Houston operations and the launch of our Dallas facility.
This role owns the full HR lifecycle and serves as a strategic and operational partner to executive leadership during a critical growth phase. The Director leads through presence, clarity, and execution—balancing strategy with hands-on involvement in the business.

Houston, TX & Dallas, TX (Multi-site leadership role with regular on-site presence)
Essential Functions
- Lead and oversee all Human Resources operations across multiple locations
- Build scalable HR infrastructure to support hiring, onboarding, retention, and compliance
- Serve as the HR lead for the Dallas operation launch, including staffing and policy implementation
- Partner with executive and operational leadership on workforce planning and organizational strategy
- Oversee employee relations, investigations, corrective actions, and terminations
- Drive performance management, coaching, and leadership development initiatives
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Oversee payroll processing, benefits administration, timekeeping, and HR reporting
- Leverage HRIS and reporting tools to analyze workforce trends and inform decisions
- Manage the HR department budget and vendor relationships
- Champion a culture of accountability, clarity, and engagement across all levels of the organization
Experience & Professional Background
- Progressive HR leadership experience supporting hourly, operational workforces
- Experience building or scaling HR programs in growing, multi-site organizations
Systems & Operational Effectiveness
- Experience leveraging HR systems, reporting, and metrics
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (Paylocity preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education & Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) a plus
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Ability to travel between Houston and Dallas as business needs require

Job Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including leadership responsibility
- Demonstrated experience leading HR operations in multi-site environments
- Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, with emphasis on Texas
- Proven ability to build, scale, and standardize HR processes in growing organizations
- Hands-on experience with employee relations, investigations, corrective action, and terminations
- Experience using HRIS platforms; Paylocity experience strongly preferred
- Ability to partner effectively with executive leadership and operational leaders
- Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work on-site and travel between Houston and Dallas as business needs require
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, not required
