Prospect Airport Services, Inc. is a leading provider of aviation support services with over 8000 dedicated employees located in 33 airports throughout the United States.
We are currently seeking a Safety Manager for our Newark Liberty International Airport.
The ideal candidate for this position will be a forward-thinking safety professional with ample airline industry experience. The Safety Manager is responsible for building and maintaining a Safety Culture in the organization.

This position reports directly to the Regional Vice President.

Responsibilities :
· Fosters the safety culture in the day to day operations of a large-scale aircraft cabin service operation.
Work with the Corporate Compliance and Safety team to ensure effective Safety Programs are “on-going” to promote a safe work environment.
· Ensure all Safety initiatives are completed as directed.
· Complies with the company and client incident investigation and reporting programs.
· Provides training to station leaders to follow safe work processes and maintain a safe working environment.
· Ensures a weekly status report is submitted to the Regional Vice President.
· Actively monitors the workplace for hazards and takes appropriate corrective action.
· Conducts daily safety audits of the employee and immediately addresses safety infractions. A summary of the findings are to be included in the weekly report.
· Leads all accident/incident investigations to determine the root cause and recommend corrective actions.
· Participates in weekly and monthly Safety related conference calls.
· Work closely with airline client and airport safety teams.
· Maintains OSHA record keeping and works with the corporate management on the annual reporting.
Manages a team of safety supervisors
Qualifications :
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in safety and/or the aviation industry.
Minimum 3 years management experience; preferably in an airport environment.
Minimum 2 years field experience working in an airport environment preferred.
· Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
· Proficient in computer programs (MS Word, Excel, PPT, …)
· Available to work any day and hours
· Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to perform risk assessments and propose solutions to mitigate risk
· Ability to work well with leaders, employees, and clients
