Job Description - Airport Operations Specialist I

Basic Qualifications
1.    
Contingent on the area of assignment, one or all of the following may be required to perform the duties of the position:
2.    
General knowledge of FAR Part 139 Regulations, NFPA 407, and familiarity with TSA Part 1542 security requirements.
3.    
General knowledge of airport procedures, policies and FAA guidelines and requirements.
4.    
General knowledge of operations activities at commercial service airports.
5.    
Strong organizational skills (filing paperwork, updating airport manuals and documents).
6.    
Basic time management skills to prioritize and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
7.    
Requires the ability to use computers (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe).
8.    
Must be able to operate standard office and field equipment.
9.    
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects with minimal physical effort.
10.    
Position involves sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally ascending/descending stairs and ladders.
11.    
Requires basic eye, hand, and foot coordination, as well as the ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively.
12.    
Possession of a valid driver’s license. Must be able to obtain a State of Texas driver’s license within 90 days.
13.    
Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
14.    
Must pass State, Federal, and TSA background checks.
 

Examples of Job Duties
1.    
Assist with daily operational activities at airport facilities under the guidance of Operations Director.
2.    
Support activities related to maintaining the Airport Certification Manual (ACM), Airport Emergency Plan (AEP), and compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), state, and local airport regulations.
3.    
Assist in the development and implementation of airfield procedures and policies.
4.    
Assists in FAR Part 139 Certification Compliance, including the Self-Inspection Program, Wildlife Hazard Management, Storm Water Pollution Prevention, and fuel facilities oversight.
5.    
Provide support to the maintenance department as needed. 
6.    
Perform day and night airfield inspections. Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for operational activities.
7.    
Be able to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays. As required.
8.    
Be able to work unsupervised.
