JOB DESCRIPTION
The Project Manager I (CIP) is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities and systems. Duties at this level include, but are not limited to: participating in the conceptual development of a construction project; and managing schedules and budgets. This position requires an experienced, professional capable of carrying out most assignments typical of the profession with limited guidance or review. This level would be considered a promotional level and attainable by any incumbents in a work group who demonstrate the necessary knowledge, ability, and performance.
Supervision Received
Works under very general supervision. Depending on organization structure, may work independently with responsibility for an assigned function or program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned.
Performs team and individual performance evaluations and reporting. Tracks and reviews departmental performance measures.
Reviews contractors' daily journals for comparison to inspectors' daily journals for accuracy and congruency to avoid any conflicts when contractors are preparing applications for payment to the City for delivered work.
Plans out projects by creating a comprehensive set of guidelines that will enable the project team to deliver the project objectives.
Monitors and controls project efforts by reviewing project work results and comparing them to planned results.

Applies organizational policies.
Selects from multiple procedures and methods to accomplish tasks.
Establishes work methods, timetables, performance standards, etc.
Leadership provided
Typically has formal project management and/or skills development responsibilities.
Manages progress meetings to review status of ongoing projects and coordinates with the Senior Program/Project Managers, Safety Officer, Project Controls/Schedule Manager, Permit Coordinator and Land Acquisition team to review work in progress and data deliverables to ensure the project is within budget and on time.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in environmental management, business, real estate, public administration, civil engineering, urban forestry or a related field. 2-4 years of related experience and at least 1 year of managerial and supervisory experience is required.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in architecture, civil engineering, environmental engineering or a related field; and 3 years of project management or construction management experience. Knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft Suite.
Licensures and Certifications
Desirable: licensure or professional certifications applicable to the position.
Required: Valid Georgia driver's license.
