Title: Algebra II Teacher

Job Summary:	The Algebra II Teacher at Midland Christian School is responsible for delivering rigorous, engaging mathematics instruction that equips students with strong algebraic reasoning, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking abilities. This role integrates Christian values and a biblical worldview into instruction while fostering academic excellence, perseverance, and integrity in a Christ-centered learning environment.
Lines of Authority:	Reports to the Secondary Principal
Education:	Bachelor’s Degree Required
Required Personal Qualities:	Whole-heartedly agrees with the school’s Statement of Faith and vision to Live for God, Love like Jesus, and Learn for Life Consistently demonstrates enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality. Embodies a Christ-like attitude in all aspects of his/her work.
Required Spiritual Development:	Is a baptized believer who is a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ. Believes that the Bible is God’s Word and standard for faith and daily living. Models Christ-likeness in attitude, speech, and actions toward others. Is an active member of a local Christ centered community of faith. Reflects the vision of the school, which is to Live for God, Love like Jesus, and Learn for Life. Maintains a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, and good taste, and that is in agreement with any applicable school policy.
Required Qualifications:	Current Teaching Certification Profound understanding and commitment to Christian faith and principles. High level of professionalism, discretion and respect for confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:	Past experience as a teacher.

Transportation:	Reliable transportation.
Physical and Mental Effort:	Teachers may spend long hours standing, walking around the classroom, and carrying materials. Additionally, they may need to participate in activities such as recess supervision or field trips. Teaching often involves emotional labor, as educators invest their emotions in supporting students, dealing with challenges, and celebrating successes. This can be both rewarding and draining, requiring mental resilience and self-care strategies.

Essential Functions
Essential functions of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following functions. Other duties may be assigned.

Instruction and Curriculum Development

Plan, prepare, and deliver Algebra II curriculum aligned with school standards and academic expectations.
Develop and implement a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
Teach topics including linear and quadratic functions, polynomial and rational expressions, exponential and logarithmic functions, systems of equations, and mathematical modeling.
Incorporate technology and real-world applications to enhance student understanding.

Classroom Management:

Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning.
Enforce school policies and rules regarding student behavior and conduct.
Foster a supportive and respectful classroom atmosphere.

Integration of Faith and Learning:

Integrate Christian principles and biblical values into lessons and classroom activities.
Encourage and model a Christ-centered lifestyle both in and out of the classroom.
Participate in school-wide faith-based activities, including chapel services and prayer meetings.

Spiritual Development

Lead daily prayer/devotional time, integrating biblical teachings into classroom discussions.
Model Christ-like behavior and values through actions and interactions with students. Exemplary behavior and character consistent with Christian values, serving as a positive role model for students both inside and outside the classroom.
Facilitate opportunities for students to explore and deepen their faith.

Parent Communication and Collaboration:

Establish open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior and classroom activities.
Collaborate with parents/guardians to support student learning and spiritual development.
Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences and other school events.

Professional Development:

Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Stay updated on current instructional strategies and best practices in education and faith-based pedagogy.
Incorporate Bible stories, Christian values, and character education into daily lessons.

Professional Responsibilities:

Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience and a supportive school community.
Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.
Attend work regularly and is punctual.
Serve at extra-curricular events as needed
