Job Description - Alumni Relations Manager

Reports to: Assistant Director of Development and Chief Development Officer

Full-Time (40 hours per week) 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Development, the Alumni Relations Manager is responsible for building and maintaining relationships that advance the goals and mission of Mount Paran Christian School. This includes alumni programming, giving, and volunteer engagement. Specifically, the Alumni Relations Manager works to expand relationships with alumni and alumni parents by connecting them to the school through volunteer engagement, events, sharing philanthropic opportunities, and encouraging alumni to serve within the Mount Paran community. The Alumni Relations Manager is responsible for guiding the Alumni Association Council and serves as the point person between school and alumni. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Profess faith in Jesus Christ and accepts and exemplifies the MPCS covenant statement, culture and mission statement of Mount Paran Christian School

· Alumnus/Alumnae of MPCS and/or individual with deep connections and relationships with MPCS Alumni

· A high degree of professionalism, sound judgement, awareness, and discretion while maintaining confidentiality.

· B.A. /B.S. from an accredited college or university or significant experience that would provide the noted knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.

· Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build, foster and maintain positive relationships within the school and the broader community. 

· Strong written and verbal communication skills to express the school’s mission, vision and goals with clarity, passion, and persuasion.

· Excellent organization and management skills; creative in approach and resourceful.

· A mission-driven individual with a belief in and commitment to Mount Paran Christian School’s mission and values.

  

 

Requirements

JOB DESCRIPTION
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Organize and implement a comprehensive strategy to grow the alumni program and improve engagement with other alumni and within the MPCS community.

· Oversee and direct activities for alumni, including Homecoming, reunions, winter and spring alumni events, and senior/college day.

· Visit with alumni, both on and off campus, to build and preserve institutional relationships; some travel required.

· Initiate strategies to keep alumni parents engaged with the mission of the school. 

· Continue the mission of the school by providing spiritual mentorship to alumni.

· Oversee and encourage alumni support during Annual Fund efforts and the Senior Giving Project, with a goal of growing the culture of philanthropy by establishing history and tradition within the MPCS community. 

· Coordinate opportunities for alumni to share, speak, and serve the MPCS school community.

· Develop event strategies that will increase attendee engagement with MPCS.

· Regularly monitor and review effectiveness of alumni programming, including analyzing alumni data, conducting online surveys and focus groups of the alumni, and benchmarking other successful alumni programs and opportunities.

· Develop and coordinate with Marketing & Communications the content of the alumni pages for the Mount Paran website as well as on social media channels.

· Oversee, maintain, and write alumni articles for the school’s Wingspan Magazine, including gathering class notes and alumni life updates, and nominations for various alumni awards and recognitions. 

· Support and manage the activity and growth of the Alumni Association Council and class representatives. Develop and sustain an active alumni volunteer base to enhance the vibrancy of the Alumni Association including service opportunities in conjunction with MPCS priorities and the school’s mission. 

· Manage the alumni awards process in conjunction with the Alumni Association Council.

· Engage in training and professional development opportunities for alumni relations best practices. 

· Work collaboratively with the Chief Development Officer to monitor and maintain alumni budget and expenses. 

Physical Requirements: Lifting boxes and other packages not exceeding 20 pounds, ability to sit or stand for long periods of time; excellent cognitive and hearing abilities.
