1N6The Ambulatory Clinical Educator is responsible for collaborating across the Quality & Patient Safety teams, the outpatient practices, and the inpatient services to ensure an appropriate level of skill to maintain patient safety. The Clinical Educator provides training and support for clinical and non-clinical performance according to regulatory standards required by various regulatory bodies, such as State and Federal Rural Health programs.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for all education needs in the ambulatory setting to include those skills of medical assistants, licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and registered nurses (RNs).
Responsible for the onboarding of all new staff as well as the annual competency program in the ambulatory setting.
Responsible for the development of new trainings and quality assurance requirements.
Assists with survey readiness and onsite support during surveys, and the planning and presentations of educational activities which foster the development and maintenance of competencies in the employee.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
Experience
2-3 years of experience in teaching medical assistants, LPNs, RNs, or other disciplines is required.
Certification & Licensure
Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the state of Virginia and/or West Virginia is required.
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved is required. New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
Qualifications
Understands process improvement principles and oversees opportunities to improve care provided to patients in the ambulatory setting.
