Key Responsibilities:
• Perform analytical testing with primary focus on wet chemistry titrations (e.g., acid/base, redox, complexometric, Karl Fisher) and UV-Vis spectroscopy to support business and customer needs.
• Prepare samples, standards, and reagents in accordance with approved LTMs/SOPs; document work and results accurately in LIMS with full traceability.
• Ensure strong safety performance by following safe work practices, participating in safety meetings, and closing assigned action items on time.
• Execute titration workflows including standardization of titrants, endpoint verification, calculations, and review of results against specifications.
• Execute UV-Vis measurements including instrument setup, wavelength selection, baseline/blank checks, and data evaluation consistent with approved methods.
• Maintain instrument readiness by executing preventive maintenance and calibrations for UV-Vis and titration systems; support troubleshooting, repairs coordination, and general equipment upkeep.
• Provide timely analytical support to internal customers (R&I, Quality, Operations, Marketing, Sales) and collaborate with other Syensqo laboratories as required.
• Author, review, and maintain technical documentation including SOPs, LTMs, and analytical reports; contribute to method updates, method transfers, and continuous improvement.
• Drive laboratory organization and cleanliness by applying 5S principles and performing routine daily and weekly housekeeping of lab spaces and equipment.
• Improve lab efficiency and responsiveness by managing shifting priorities, coordinating technical activities, reducing backlog, and supporting supply ordering/inventory needs (standards, reagents, cuvettes, consumables).
• Train and coach team members on titration and UV-Vis methods, SOPs/LTMs, calculations, and good laboratory practices to strengthen team capability and consistency.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of laboratory and business objectives.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biology, Physical Science, or Materials Science.
• 2–5 years of experience in an analytical testing laboratory.
• Experience with polymer/material characterization using one or more of the techniques listed above.
• Ability to perform hands-on lab work on a daily basis, work with chemicals, perform physical tasks including walking, sitting, standing, bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling, lifting, carrying and transporting objects.
• Analytical method development/validation capability.
• Strong written/verbal communication; able to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting lab operations and continuous improvement.
• Strong instrument maintenance/troubleshooting/repair experience with automated titration systems and UV-Vis instruments.
• Experience with complimentary analytical techniques (NMR, FTIR, ICP, XRF, etc.)
Desired behaviors:
• Must be self-motivated, organized, detail oriented, and capable of routinely working in a high demand environment.
• Strong commitment to safety, including proper handling of hot objects and hazardous chemicals, to ensure a safe work environment for all.
• Work effectively with others and demonstrate a positive teamwork approach, regularly interface with internal customers.
