At The Obama Foundation, our mission is to inspire, empower, and connect people to change their world.  We seek to build an active democratic culture where people are equipped and motivated to make change in the communities where they live, work, and play. Right here on the South Side of Chicago, we’re building a home for this vision, a global center for change with a range of opportunities - coordinated programming, community outreach events, educational moments, and more - that invite visitors from down the block or across the globe to turn hope into action.

Achieving our ambitious goals starts with an exceptional team built on our Hope to Action Values - Courage, Empathy, Integrity, Accountability, Community, Inclusivity, Pragmatism, Resilience, Imagination, and Hope. A Framework that anyone, anywhere, can use to build trust, activate participation, and expand opportunity in their community.

Purpose of the Role

The Analyst, OPC Venue Management coordinates venue operations for the Obama Presidential Center (OPC), ensuring all requirements are documented and executed for internal, external, and public events.

As part of the Venue Management team, Analysts serve as Venue Managers for low-to-moderate complexity events and support senior staff on high-complexity programs. While event hosts lead content and vendor relationships, this role drives venue execution by maintaining accurate event data and executing operational plans through the Museum Event Order (MEO) process.

This role requires regular evening and weekend hours based on event schedules.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Support coordination with event hosts by maintaining event details and assisting with communication

  • Review event information and flag risks, gaps, or inconsistencies for resolution

  • Assist in coordinating with OPC Facilities, Security, and Visitor Experience teams to support event readiness

Event Execution & Onsite Coordination

  • Serve as the Venue Manager for lower to moderately complex events and support higher-complexity events as needed

  • Coordinate with OPC Facilities, Security, and Visitor Experience teams to deliver services in alignment with MEOs

  • Partner with the event host, who onsite leads program content, attendee management, and vendor deliverables

  • Monitor event spaces and operations in real time, including setup, transitions, and overall flow

  • Identify and escalate operational issues as needed to maintain a seamless environment

  • Support vendor activity onsite to ensure alignment with approved plans and OPC standards

  • Deliver a high standard of hospitality that reflects OPC values, ensuring a welcoming and well-supported experience for all guests

Team & Operational Support

  • Maintain accurate event data across systems (e.g., Infor, Asana)

  • Track timelines, follow-ups, and task completion across events

  • Support intake processes and ensure documentation accuracy

  • Assist with cross-team communication and coordination

  • Contribute to consistent execution by following established processes and standards

Key Deliverables / Outcomes

  • Events are executed in alignment with approved plans and OPC standards

  • Event details are accurate, complete, and well-documented

  • Strong coordination across internal teams and stakeholders

  • Timely identification and escalation of risks and issues

  • Effective and respectful cross-team collaboration with OPC colleagues and partners

  • Consistently demonstrate OPC values

Required Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in event operations, hospitality, or coordination roles

  • Ability to work flexible schedules as required by operational needs, including evenings, weekends, holidays, peak visitor periods, and special events

  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to follow processes and escalate issues appropriately

  • The role requires frequent mobility across the Center’s campus, both indoors and outdoors

  • Experience with event or venue management systems (e.g., Infor) and project management systems (e.g., Asana) is a plus

The salary range for this role is between $51,965  and $64,980.

This is an on-site role based at the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park.
