Local News Traffic / Breaking News Anchor ReporterWBAL-TV, the NBC affiliate in Baltimore is now hiring a Traffic / Breaking News Anchor Reporter. We need a good storyteller who has excellent on-air presence and engagement skills. We want someone who can captivate our viewers on social media and a journalist who will grow this position. You will report to the Assistant News Director.ResponsibilitiesPrepare morning traffic report with graphics.Provide concise live traffic reports for morning show.Research and report up-to-the-minute traffic conditions.Communicate morning traffic information to viewers through digital platforms including our station website, mobile app, and social media pages.Gather information and report on breaking news from "11 News Live Desk." Produce reporter stories for later newscasts.RequirementsProfessional or college experience as a journalist and storyteller in a commercial television stationExperience using traffic systems preferredSuited to ad-lib in breaking news situationsClear speech, basic knowledge of how to use a computer and basic knowledge of social mediaFamiliar with street and highway names and directions; quick to learnMust be creative and work well with othersRelated military experience will be consideredDiversity StatementAt Hearst Television we tell stories every day.
