Anchor build Technician

The Anchor Build Technician is a critical contributor to WeLink’s mesh infrastructure. This role is responsible for the safe and precise installation of PTP (Point-to-Point) rooftop anchor sites that extend and stabilize our wireless network. Technicians in this position manage the full lifecycle of each installation — from pre-arrival prep and LOS validation to equipment setup and final customer delivery. High technical competency, safety adherence, and strong customer communication are essential.

Anchor Build Technicians are expected to perform all work in accordance with the Install and Maintenance Standards Manual. Primary responsibilities include:

• Pre-Installation
  • Onsite customer engagement to review installation scope and expectations.
  • Conduct full site walkthroughs (inside and out) to determine optimal locations and identify safety risks.
    
    
• Installation Execution
  • Perform LOS survey and validate azimuths to all adjacent sites.
  • Set up rooftop safety gear including D-rings and harnesses.
  • Assemble and install mounting hardware, radios (CUB), and MBU systems.
  • Run outdoor-rated cables with proper weather sealing and cable management.
  • Install UPS, NID, grounding, and related indoor network components.
  • Provision MBU and confirm hotspot configuration and connectivity.
    
    
• Post-Installation
  • Complete router configuration and speed testing with customers.
  • Educate customers on router use and app management.
  • Upload all required photos and job notes into Salesforce and FSM.
  • Leave the site clean, safe, and aligned to all standards.
    
    

Promotions to Anchor Build are contingent on business needs and availability. To be considered, technicians must:

• Rank in the top 15% of peers over a rolling 3-month period, as measured by:
  • Leaf Build Efficiency (LBE)
  • Completion Rate
  • Roll Back Rate
    
    
• Maintain the following minimum KPIs:
  • 85%+ ABE/LBE
  • 70%+ Completion Rate
  • <5% Roll Back Rate on Anchor Builds
    
    

Selected technicians will enter a structured 8-week ramp program:

• Complete a hybrid schedule of Leaf Builds and Anchor Builds.
• Receive hands-on instruction and mentoring from certified installers.
  
  

• Complete 25 Anchor Builds while independently managing a full install schedule.
• Sustain 2 Anchor Builds per day within an 8-hour workday.
• Receive build quality certification from the local Field Manager.

Note: Technicians who do not complete 25 Anchor Builds within 4 weeks will remain in burn-in until the requirement is met. Salary increases are paused until certification is achieved.

Important: Some technicians may have already been assisting with Anchor Builds or in a training capacity due to business needs and scheduling limitations. If a technician has been actively contributing to Anchor work prior to formal promotion consideration, this time will be reviewed and may be counted toward the official Training, Ramp-Up, or Burn-In requirements at the discretion of the Field Manager and Director of Field Operations.

Certified Anchor Build Technicians are expected to:

• Maintain 100% ABE/LBE
• Consistently adhere to build quality and safety standards
• Sustain high productivity (Anchor or Leaf Builds as needed)
• Follow all provisioning, cabling, and customer setup procedures
