Job Description - Anesthesiologist

• Shift Schedule: Rotates between either
       -Two 8 -hour shifts plus one 24 -hour shift
                              or
       -Five 8 -hour shifts, with a post -call day off
• Call Type: In -house call
• Call Response Time: 30 minutes
• Patient Demographics: Adult
• Admissions: Yes
• Required to Supervise APPs: Yes (CRNAs during daytime)
• Support Staff: CRNAs present during daytime hours; details of RN/MA/office staff listed as TBD
• Case Mix:
    – Cardiac
    – Complete Ortho
    – Complex Vascular
    – OB, Neurosurgical -Head Spine
    – Regional
• Skills/Procedures:
    – General Anesthesia
    – Adult, Pediatric, Neonatal, Trauma
    – Anesthesia - Spinal, Epidural , Regional Anesthesia Surgery
    – Obstetrical, Neurosurgical Cases - Head, Spine
    – Open Heart Anesthesia
    – Thoracic cases (except open heart)
    – Complex vascular & orthopedic cases (except open heart)
    – Pain management techniques
    – Post -op (epidural, extremity blocks)
    – Epidural steroid for; Lumbar, Cervical)
    – Transforaminal - Lumbar, Cervical
    – Use of x -ray guidance in performance of blocks
    – Ventilation management
    – Evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues
    – Arterial Line, PA Catheter, Central Line placement
• No. of OR: 5
• EMR: Epic
• Other Info: Evenings and overnights are personally performed by the anesthesiologist (not CRNA -led).
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered

Requirements:
• Active PA License
• BC in Anesthesiology
• ABLS, ACLS, ATLS,  BLS, PALS
• Fellowship preferred
