AP Specialist

S&S Firestone, Inc. is one of the largest independent tire distributors in the U.S, with over 1 million square feet of inventory. S&S Tire has over 650 employees across 10 Southeastern states, with business focusing in three business sectors: wholesale, commercial and retread. 

We are looking to add a skilled Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to our Accounting Department at the Lexington, KY Corporate Location.

This role is responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and enter invoices
• Must be detail oriented and have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently with a variety of people and personalities
• Ability to receive, review, and enter invoices into the accounting system
• Ability to manage, reconcile, and enter hundreds of invoices per week
• Match invoices to internal receivers for accuracy and posting
• Reconcile vendor statements
• Must be detail oriented and have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Filing invoices
• Data entry
• Maintain various data on excel spreadsheets

Schedule

• Monday to Friday

 Skills:

• Ability to work independently with a variety of people and personalities
• Ability to receive, review, and enter invoices into the accounting system
• Ability to manage, reconcile, and enter hundreds of invoices per week
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
• Proficiency in English and in MS Office
• Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• High School Graduate 

Education:

• High School Diploma (Preferred)

Experience:

• Accounting: 1 year (Preferred)
• Accounts Payable: 1 year (Preferred)
