Job Description - AP Supervisor

Description

Summary:

This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the AP team. They will ensure timely payment of invoices and respond quickly to vendor concerns. This person will also provide support for the accounting team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage AP team, contributing to a productive and comfortable environment 
  • Manage procure-to-pay process, including regular payment schedule and ad hoc requests
  • Codes, verifies, and electronically enters invoices into Great Plains using paperless process
  • Utilizes three-way matching to process inventory invoices
  • Follows up on account statements, ensuring timely resolution of vendor concerns
  • Serves as liaison between departments and vendors in the resolution of administrative problems and inquiries
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within AP
  • Assist accounting with research and audit requests as needed

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Minimum 5 years AP experience, with experience in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of standard accounts payable policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Proficient with Excel is a must, experience with Great Plains preferred

  • Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Ability to understand and interpret vendor invoices, statements, and other requests for payment. 
  • Ability to process computer data to format and generate reports. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and demonstrate a willingness to accept new challenges is preferred.
  • Highly motivated, organized, team player, and willingness to learn and grow.
  • Capable of lifting/carrying 5 lbs. and occasionally up to 20 lbs.
