Position Overview:
As an Apartment Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our apartment community’s common areas, public facilities, and grounds. Your role will also include preparing apartments for new residents in line with the property’s operational goals. You will be part of a supportive property management team, contributing to an exceptional living experience for all residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Cleaning & Maintenance: Sweep, scrub, mop floors, and clean all surfaces, including windows, appliances, and fixtures, to maintain cleanliness throughout the property.
Sanitization: Ensure common areas such as bathrooms, laundry rooms, and fitness centers are sanitized and hygienic.
Vacuuming & Dusting: Vacuum carpets, rugs, and upholstery; dust and polish furniture and fittings to maintain property appeal.
Trash & Waste Disposal: Empty and sanitize trash containers, ensuring waste is disposed of properly and safely.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate cleaning equipment (vacuum, scrubbers, etc.) safely, ensuring it's in proper working condition and clean.
Inspect & Report: Monitor the property for needed repairs or replacements and report maintenance issues as they arise.
Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and reorder as necessary.
Support Maintenance Projects: Assist with general housekeeping tasks during maintenance projects or at sister properties when needed.
Move-In/Move-Out Cleaning: Follow schedules for move-in and move-out cleaning, ensuring apartments are ready for new residents.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment and report hazards promptly.
Qualifications & Skills:
Skills:
Proficient in various cleaning methods for carpets, floors, windows, and appliances.
Experience operating cleaning equipment, including vacuums and floor scrubbers.
Strong time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.
Attention to detail to ensure high-quality cleaning standards.
Knowledge of safety procedures in handling cleaning supplies and equipment.
Ability to address issues proactively, identifying and solving cleanliness or maintenance problems.
Friendly and professional demeanor to ensure positive interactions with residents and visitors.
Physical stamina to perform lifting, bending, kneeling, and moving for extended periods.
Strong organizational skills to manage cleaning tasks and inventory effectively.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with different cleaning agents, methods, and tools.
Understanding of sanitation standards for shared spaces, including restrooms and gyms.
Basic understanding of multifamily property operations and cleaning processes during move-ins and move-outs.
Awareness of environmentally responsible cleaning practices.
Knowledge of basic maintenance tasks, including identifying issues and reporting them.
Familiarity with industry regulations, including OSHA and health and safety standards.
Abilities:
Ability to perform physical tasks, including walking long distances, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
Adaptability to changing priorities and emergency cleaning requests.
Strong communication skills to interact with residents, team members, and property management.
Ability to work well within a team, offering assistance when necessary.
High work ethic, performing tasks independently with minimal supervision.
Respect for confidentiality and resident privacy while working in private areas.
Flexibility to work irregular hours, weekends, or evenings when required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, bending, kneeling, and moving for extended periods.
Must be able to lift objects up to 30 lbs or more when required.
Must be comfortable walking long distances and climbing stairs throughout the property.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience in cleaning or related field preferred but not required.
Familiarity with cleaning tools and supplies.
