Job Description:
As a Property Manager at SYLIS Property Management, you will oversee all operations at one or more of our multifamily communities. Your role is critical in ensuring the success of our properties through effective management, strong leadership, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Property Management:
Maintain accurate property records and complete required reports timely.
Regularly inspect the property to ensure maintenance, curb appeal, and safety.
Supervise outside contractors and employees working on the property.
Respond to and manage all maintenance requests.
Process purchase orders and ensure timely preparation of vacant units.
Ensure RMO data is up to date and accurate.
Attend after-hour calls as needed.
Financial Management:
Collect rents and manage delinquent accounts.
Ensure timely completion of all related paperwork.
Initiate eviction procedures for non-paying residents.
Maintain accurate rent collection records.
Reconcile bank accounts if assigned and manage budget adherence.
Resident Relations:
Strive to understand and anticipate resident needs.
Maintain high levels of resident satisfaction and minimize complaints.
Achieve a 90% renewal rate.
Assist new residents with community procedures and provide a clean, safe living environment.
Marketing and Leasing:
Implement and coordinate property marketing strategies.
Maintain desired occupancy levels.
Assist in lease negotiations and renewals.
Ensure availability of ready-to-rent units by working with the make-ready staff.
Team Leadership:
Assist in training staff.
Set clear expectations and goals for the team.
Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.
Foster cooperation and build trust among staff and other departments.
Develop staff for upward mobility within the company.
Qualifications:
Three or more years of multifamily property management experience.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
CAM/CAPS certification is beneficial.
Valid Driver's License.
Skills, Knowledge, and Personal Characteristics:
Bookkeeping experience

Working Conditions:
Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to facilitate leasing activities and resident events.
Local travel for property visits and meetings may be necessary.
Work involves frequent sitting and moderate walking.
The role may involve occasional stress due to operational demands.
Light lifting and carrying may be required.
Regular use of computers, including monitors, is necessary.
Work Environment:
Work involves both indoor office settings and outdoor environments.
Tasks may include working in or around traffic areas and navigating slippery or uneven walkways.
Exposure to dust, insects, animals, varying weather conditions, humidity, and interactions with the general public is possible.
Personal vehicles may be used for job-related travel.
