Job Description - Application Deployment Specialist (Senior)

*** Current Active IRS Minimum Background Investigation MBI/ 58C Tier 2RS clearance required. ***
*** The is a remote position.  Depending on the needs of the business, the worker may need to work at the IRS building in New Carrollton, MD. ***
*** The position starts June 2025 thru March 2026 (with possible extension). ***

TriTech Enterprise Systems is seeking an experienced 'Application Deployment Specialist' to support the Department of Treasury.  This candidate will support the IRS/MeF project.  MeF is a platform for electronically filing returns with the IRS. It provides SOA based web services that filers use to submit returns and provides web applications for IRS users to work with the returns.  MeF validates filed returns, determines their disposition, and interfaces with other IRS systems for downstream processing of the returns.

Task Description:

The candidate must be a Java/JEE developer to support the testing, troubleshooting, incident management, and maintenance of JEE-based applications.  The incident-management support includes interfacing with end users and enterprise helpdesk team members in addressing user inquiries and issues, providing guidance on application usage and developing knowledge articles as needed.

Primary Duties:
 
  • Support incident management.  Interact with clients, development and test team members for troubleshooting functional and performance related issues - 50%
  • Support system integration testing, functional and non-functional testing - 25%
  • Support application development and deployment – 15%
  • Support maintenance and upgrade for infrastructure components and enterprise tools – 10%

Required skills/Level of Experience:
 
  • Java programming J2EE (JSP), HTML 5, XSLT (stylesheets), XML, SPRING Framework – 4 years
  • JBOSS EAP V8, Apache Web Server v2.4 - 4 years
  • RedHat V8+ - 4 years
  • UNIX command line and shell scripts (Bash, Bourne) – 4 years
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • SQL for Oracle and DB2
  • Microsoft Edge – Group Policy Object (GPO)
  • ServiceNow
  • Splunk
  • AppDynamics
  • Agile development
  • Ansible
  • Web Services
  • Eclipse IDE and IBM EWM.
