Competitive Salary:

$81,681 - $116,688Annually

What You'll Do:

You don't have to know a lot about agriculture, you'll learn that on the job! You just have to have a willingness to learn and a desire to devote your skills to a greater purpose. This position is responsible for:

- Acts as third managerial level in Ohio Department of Agriculture's (ODA) Office of Information Technology and works under administrative direction of Chief Information Officer (CIO) & requires thorough knowledge of management in order to assist CIO in defining ODA's Office of Information Technology goals & objectives

- Acts as CIO in their absence when assigned

- Provides oversight of the design, build, documentation, implementation, support, and costs of all ODA IT software

application systems

- Supervises assigned staff

- Serves as lead technical resource in supporting ODA IT application development, and support activity

- Provides leadership in understanding the best programming frameworks and languages to use on a project

- Provides oversight of developers to provide accurate estimates of expected work

- Provides oversight of or prepares and publishes system help documentation for internal and external use

- Develops, implements, and oversees change control processes

- Develops, implements, utilizes, and maintains effective project and system management processes & effective security processes

- Assist the CIO to recruit, select, and maintain a staff of qualified and motivated IT professionals for all assigned and

budgeted personnel

- Maintains an effective and ongoing interface with the other divisions and departments in the operation of ODA

- Plans, develops, implements, and oversees ODA property management systems and audits

- Approves leave, overtime & timecards in Kronos & completes performance evaluations for assigned staff

- Represents agency on committees, boards, & commissions

- Attends work related seminars &/or classes, reads technical instruction manuals, & travels to attend meetings &

conferences

- Oversees and implements special projects & provides training & direction to ODA staff in other divisions &/or offices

Maternity Benefits

- 12 weeks paid childbirth leave at 70% with option to supplement to 100%

- Expanded maternity health care benefits available to state employees enrolled in the Ohio Med PPO and Ohio Med NN

(narrow network) medical plan options. Several prenatal, childbirth, and post-childbirth services are provided at no out-of-pocket cost to employees utilizing network providers.

- Examples of services now covered by network providers at 100% include:- Prenatal care, including physician visits and examinations.

- Home health care services designated as maternity care (for expectant members on bed rest).

- Inpatient claims for all types of delivery.

- Inpatient NICU claims, from birth through discharge.

- Postpartum care, including office visits for follow-up, and procedures/treatments directly related to maternity.

- Medications prescribed for both antepartum and postpartum conditions (e.g., morning sickness, postpartum depression). Medical services provided by non-network providers will be processed at the applicable coinsurance, deductible, and out-of-pocket limits.

- Prescription drugs that are directly related to maternity care are covered with no copay. The State of Ohio has collaborated with the prescription drug third-party administrator (OptumRx) to provide a list of covered medications that can be approved for zero copay via prior authorization from providers.

ORCompletion of undergraduate core coursework in computer science, or completion of undergraduate core coursework in any academic major which included at least one course in each of the following: advanced-level computer programming language (for example, COBOL, Delphi, Java, Powerbuilder, Visual Basic, Pl 1, SAS PCS, Pacbase, Full Visual Suite, Designer 2000, Developer 2000, C, C++, Visual C, ECL, or Visual Studio), logic-based mathematics, data base concepts (for example, Oracle, Microsoft Access, Paradox, Sybase, IMS DB, DB2, Cache, DMS, or RDMS), computer systems analysis & design, & basic data processing conceptsANDAn additional 4 1/2 years (54 months) experience commensurate with job duties to be performed & knowledges & skills required as outlined in approved position description on file for position to be filled as advertised in job postingAND6 months experience in performing project management functions as defined in series purpose
