Microwave Techniques is searching for an experienced Application Engineer.
 

We are located in Gorham, ME, Nashua, NH and Hamburg, Germany and are a market leader in the design and manufacture of high-power RF components. What will you do in this role?

As an Applications Engineer you will support assigned Sales Engineers as required to partner with customers and deliver answers to technical and logistical questions. You will then provide responsive quotations and documentation to help the Sales Engineer secure business.  

•  Consult Sales Engineer and existing and potential customers to assess and understand the needs and requirements of customer projects.
• Is the “inside” resource supporting Sales Engineers who are generally not in-house and/or traveling
• Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and other customer specifications while quoting project-ts. 
• Drafts or assists with technical presentations and other documentation and materials that explain products and services to customers.
• Participate in product development and mechanical engineering meetings to fully understand new products and programs. Provide customer insight into requirements and desired features.
• Provides expertise and support for Sales Engineers to communicate products, services, and customer needs.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineers to provide outlines and other requirements for customers. 
• Supports customers and resolve technical problems pulling in the Engineering team as needed.
• Represent the customer and Sales Engineer at internal meetings (e.g. Production Meeting) to make sure that they have an internal advocate.
• Assists with research and development of new products.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to create marketing data sheets and technical white papers. 
• Performs other related duties as required to be successful in this role. 

Requirements

What do you need to be successful?

• Mechanical and/or Electrical/RF Engineering degree with 3-5 years of experience. 
• Curious, creative problem solver. 
• Self-starter and fast learner. 
• Ability to work both independently as well as part of a dynamic team. 
• Must have professional interpersonal skills, active listening, and strong communication skills.
• Travel required, 10-15% to attend trade shows and occasional customer visits.
• Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems.
• Adept with typical software such as Microsoft Office products and Adobe.

Compensation: Base Salary $75,000 - $95,000 

General business hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday. This position will be located in the Gorham ME office.
