Application Engineer

Eaton\u2019s North American Sales division is currently seeking an Application Engineer to join their team. This position is located in Hanover, MA and focuses on mission\u2011critical and power distribution applications. Relocation assistance is available for candidates who reside outside a 50\u2011mile radius of this location. This exciting opportunity provides the chance to leverage your technical expertise to drive the adoption and preferred positioning of Eaton\u2019s electrical products in the marketplace. You\u2019ll work closely with customers\u2014including end users and electrical consultants\u2014to provide design support and tailored product recommendations for their electrical systems, while supporting major projects from concept through execution and delivering engaging product training seminars to key audiences.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThe primary function of the Application Engineer is to achieve acceptability of Eaton\u2019s Electrical products in the marketplace, while providing technical leadership and mentoring for sales engineers, OEMs, outside rep agencies, and to both internal and external customers. This position will be responsible for leading the design, development and validation of Eaton products and service applications. This position will be familiar with competitive product offerings and be able to position Eaton products to best compete against competitive products. \n\nThe primary functions include; providing efficient and accurate pre-sale application and technical support by analyzing and recommending solutions to meet customer\u2019s needs; manage daily phone and email activity while providing directions, solutions, and recommendations; effectively communicate product value proposition and product line strategies; review and provide feedback on product literature developed by product line; provide feedback to product marketing and engineering regarding information, cross reference data, renewal parts information, technical drawings, and any other technical documentation found in hard copy or on the website; serve on special teams to enhance team performance and drive process improvement , productivity, customer satisfaction, and high performance work culture; and provide training to Technical Support Engineers.\n\nMaking what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. It\u2019s where bold, bright professionals like you.\n\n\u2022 You will call on electrical engineers at related consulting firms across the assigned sales territory to assist with technical design and position Eaton related products in a preferred position \n\u2022 You will provide support on major projects including submittals drawings and interfacing with the customer and project consultants \n\u2022 You will work with institutional end users to gain acceptance and promote Eaton products \n\u2022 You will conduct product seminars and training on Eaton products and solutions to: end users, consultants and sales engineers \n\u2022 You will assist customers with design build opportunities. \n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited institution \n\u2022 Minimum seven (7) years of electrical sales and/or electrical engineering experience \n\u2022 Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver\u2019s license \n\u2022 Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering \n\u2022 A Professional Engineer (PE) License \n\u2022 Knowledgeable of Eaton Electrical products, services and competitors\n\n## Skills:\n\n\u2022 Ability to write technical specifications for new projects in a manner that will put Eaton in an advantageous position when the project is bid \n\u2022 Ability to assist with the layout and design Control and Monitoring Systems using Eaton\u2019s assembly and component products \n\u2022 Skillful at leading teams, consensus building, and mentoring \n\u2022 Initiative and self-management skills \n\u2022 Value selling experience \n\u2022 Electrical product knowledge \n\u2022 Presentation and training skills \n\u2022 Understanding of selling techniques and Eaton\u2019s capabilities \n\u2022 Technical knowledge regarding the application of Power Distribution products \n\u2022 Proficient on some or all of the following: Power Quality and reliability products and applications, Power Monitoring products and application, Power control products and applications. \n\u2022 Demonstrated ability to interface with Electrical Consultant Principals and Lead Electrical Engineers, as well as Facility Engineers at Universities, Municipalities and End Users \n\u2022 Possess knowledge of products, markets channels and associated applications \n\u2022 Ability to travel up to 25%\n\nThe compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive.
