Application Support Engineer supporting large applications such as ERP or WMS and transportation systems. Provide management, technical expertise, and coordination to manage support and implementation activities of the team. As assigned, lead, or assist in the planning, implementation, and introduction of projects for new systems and technologies. Ensure service delivery for incidents and tasks is within the established SLA’s. Define, refine support structure for all applications and establish service delivery models as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES: Establish and maintain proper support documentation and training.
Engage multiple teams to help define, prioritize, and implement enhancements and improvements across several applications.
Prioritizes own and team’s work. Anticipates consequences of actions, potential problems, or opportunities for change.
Part of a core team that is exposed to many different technologies, legacy and new, in the day-to-day operations of Stater Bros. Markets.
Participate in Design Committee, provide technical expertise and contribute design considerations for large and small projects.
Track, monitor and report progress on all support activities for the team (Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management etc.)
Consult business analyst and business relationship managers on client feedback and needs to guide planning upgrades and new features.
Manage, motivate, and mentor the support team to grow their skills and careers.
Coordinate as part of a team to design, program, test, and implement application software per system specifications and within project timelines and budget.
Write accurate and detailed user documentation for developed or implemented software application systems.
Assist the team in development of functional skills, technical skills, and experience.
Support for production applications. (Requires on-call coverage and occasional after-hours support).
Perform other job-related functions as assigned
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems or other bachelor’s degree with equivalent combination of formal education and related experience.
Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in supporting ERP and or WMS, Transportation applications
Applicable Skills with: Must possess excellent business analysis and project management skills, and the ability to handle day to day direction of multiple applications.
Must have experience implementing and supporting large application software systems.
Must have understanding in the Retail environment encompassing Retail Operations (POS), Distribution, Warehousing and Logistics
ERP, CRM, or other enterprise application support experience
Must have implemented and or supported large scale Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as Manhattan, Triceps
Must have expert knowledge in Unix, User experience, Ability to run common commands (e.g. cd, ls, vi, grep, etc.) Shell scripting (e.g. Korn/Bourne shell) Ability to read, modify and execute scripts.
Must have expert knowledge in TSO/ISPF, COBOL, CICS, JCL
Must have expert knowledge in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, SQL*Loader, MS SQL Server MS SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
Must have experience with ITIL or any other service delivery frameworks

Strong structured systems analysis and design experience
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a variety of internal business relationships; must be able to interface with colleagues up to senior-level executives
Excellent research, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
