Community Healthcare System is hiring an Application System Administrator!

Hybrid Position

Hours: M-F Days

Job Description:

Reporting to the Application Manager, the Applications System Administrator is responsible for coordination of all operational aspects for applications assigned as the primary system administrator. Additionally, functions in a backup role for applications assigned as a secondary application system administrator. Acts as the gatekeeper for any changes or modifications to assigned applications. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing day-to-day analytical and technical activities, including monitoring application logs, interface logs, technical application support, alert messages, refreshing test environments, scheduling planned downtimes, and scheduling release and patch upgrades. Maintains an understanding of the overall technical components required by assigned applications. Working with the IT Directors, Analysts, and IT Technical teams, provides 3rd level support of Community Healthcare System (CHS) applications. Acts as a resource as needed to Technical Services staff. Acts as a liaison between Technical Services staff and functional users. This position will coordinate the implementation process when installing or upgrading systems. Will maintain close communications with all the I.T. Directors and provide status reports on a regular basis. This position is technical in nature and duties are considered a specialist because of the technical depth and aspects of the job.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in healthcare or Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 5 years' experience within IT or IT related areas with a focus on vendor built products and application support.
Strong functional and technical background with state-of-the-art Hospital Information Systems and workflow processes preferred.
Working knowledge of Windows desktop and server operating systems.
Working knowledge of Active Directory/LDAP, TCPIP, Microsoft Office applications, Internet, Intranet, SSL encryption, multi-tiered thin client or Citrix + applications server + database server + report server + SAN data storage and client/server architectures preferred.
Working knowledge of HTML, SQL, UNIX, InterSystems Cache' and relational database design preferred.
Working knowledge of HL7 protocol and Interface Engine design preferred.
Working knowledge of building scripts for FTP processes preferred.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and critical thinking skills required. Demonstrated customer service methodology and accountability in order to communicate effectively and professionally with medical staff, hospital department heads, professional and technical personnel.
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects is required.
Must be detailed oriented, and quality conscious.
Knowledge of programming and database structure preferred.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. Works under minimal supervision, exercises experience to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
