Applications Development Manager

Quanex is looking for an Applications Development Manager to join our team located in Cambridge, OH.

 The Applications Development Manager is responsible for the operational support, stability, and continuous improvement of the company's existing ERP and business application landscape. A key part of the role is ensuring effective 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support, with the manager expected to be hands-on in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues as well as leading the support team. The role also provides analytical and strategic leadership for application development, integrations, upgrades, and future improvement, ensuring systems remain reliable, well supported, and aligned with business priorities.

 What Success Looks Like: 

• Ensure reliable day-to-day operation and support of ERP and business applications through effective 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support.


• Serve as the senior escalation point for complex application, integration, configuration, and business process issues.


• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging incident trends, system performance metrics, and root cause analysis.


• Successfully manage application upgrades, integrations, deployments, maintenance activities, and disaster recovery testing.


• Deliver strong service performance by meeting SLA commitments and reducing recurring incidents and support backlogs.


• Build a high-performing, collaborative team focused on accountability, responsiveness, and knowledge sharing.


• Partner effectively with business and IT leadership to align application strategy with organizational priorities. 

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.


• 8+ years of experience supporting and developing ERP and business applications within complex operational environments.


• Proven experience leading or providing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line application support, including troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis.


• Strong hands-on technical expertise with ERP systems, business applications, integrations, and operational support processes.


• Demonstrated leadership experience managing analysts, developers, support professionals, and contractors.


• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.


• Experience with ITSM practices including incident, problem, change, and SLA management; ServiceNow experience preferred.


• Experience supporting SOX, GCC, audit, and compliance requirements preferred.


• PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.


• Ability to travel up to 25%.

The salary range for this position is $135-$165K with the potential to earn an annual bonus.
