Compensation Range: $61500-$90000

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.

Job Purpose

We are seeking a specialist to report to the Director of Product Management for Charger and Accessories. The overall responsibility is to be a technical resource for batteries and chargers used in industrial electric vehicle applications. A successful candidate will have a broad-based knowledge in battery technologies, battery applications, power conversion concepts (AC / DC), along with understanding product BOMs (Bill Of Materials) structures, electrical design concepts and data analytics concepts. They will be comfortable being highly involved in supporting activities in direct contact with Sales, Marketing and Engineering departments. Must be able to perform independently with minimal guidance and direction from manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Primary duty is to provide technical guidance to Sales, End Users, Procurement, Service, Engineering, and Quality in the application of batteries, chargers, and battery monitoring systems for industrial electric vehicles for the North American market.
Works closely with configuration management to support new parts creation or sustaining existing products by implementing changes and overseeing postproduction activities. Such activities may require the development of simple electrical schematics or reference BOMs for other departments.
Support BOM creation for new products or modification of existing and its implementation in company's ERP system in conjunction with Engineering and Purchasing.
Directly involved in supporting activities for the implementation of new parts or modification of existing in the company's Variable Configurator in conjunction with SAP / IT teams.
Works closely with the Purchasing department in regards of costing of newly purchased parts to be available in the system.
Support the Plant VAC (Value Add) in any requested product deviation or support production of new parts / product introduction.
Interface closely with the Application Engineering team for material creation, SAP configuration (Variant Configurator), and product application best practices and specs.
Contribute to the development of new products to address market needs, including product specifications, sample evaluation, and competitive analysis.
Support with Sales on chargers (and occasionally battery selection) and Accessories (like battery monitoring products) according to customer requirements, product specifications and conform to warranty terms.
Develop and present training material, manuals, and instructions for charger and battery products.
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in science or engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, physics) OR 3-5 years' experience in a related discipline is preferred.
Knowledge or training in electricity fundamentals required. Previous battery experience preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS: Time management and ability to multi-task while interacting with cross-functional teams.
Planning and coordinating tasks; Good initiative and self-drive motivation.
Strong interpersonal skills; Good verbal, technical writing, and presentation skills needed.
Proficient in verbal and written English.
Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Detail oriented.
Spanish, French, or Portuguese proficiency is desirable.
High proficiency with computers required.
Position requires use of many product software interfaces for electronic devices.
Extensive use of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS word, and web conferencing platforms is necessary for data analysis and reporting.
Frequent use of ERP systems such as BaaN and SAP.
Drafting simple schematic using AutoCAD or SolidWorks is desirable Computer scripting in automating data analysis is welcome.
Ability to use data to derive recommendations and optimized strategies.
Must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment when dealing with critical matters.
Ability to work in industrial and manufacturing environments with common electrical hazards.
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally 5 - 10% of the year.
General Job Requirements This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.
