Description of Work

The Project Manager is responsible and accountable to the School Business Senior Director for the overall success (on time, on budget, on scope) of delivery for critical, larger, more complex and/or more visible projects within the School Business Systems Modernization Initiative (SBSM), including ERP initiatives.
The purpose of this position is to develop and implement Power BI Data Visualization and Reporting based on Public School Uniform Education Reporting Statistics (UERS) data files submitted to DPI monthly along with other Office of School Business Services data such as allotment formulas, salary data analytics, JLOC reporting requirements, etc.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop dashboards and reports for School Business Services as well as operational areas within the department.

Develop and deliver visual dashboards, reports and infographics that assist in understanding and the communication of operational performance data.

Publish dashboards and reports for both internal Agency organizations as well as external stakeholders (General Assembly, Fiscal Research, Public Schools) as applicable.

Design engaging and interactive business insight dashboards using Power BI or Tableau and possesses the knowledge and experience on data visualization best practices, with a focus on enhancing interaction and experience.

Maintain data and analytic model structures that support goals in a data-driven government.

Establish new reporting dashboards that are interactive, creative, and have professional visual graphics.

Integrate data sources through programmatic interfaces (Python/APIs) for efficiency.

Serve as a Power BI Data Visualization Analyst - Application Systems Analyst II and technical agent for DPI working for the Office of School Business Division.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Recruitment Range: $78,467 - $86,478

Manager Preferences:

Experience with Financial and Business Operational systems and data is preferred to ensure the data integrity of the work products are maintained. 

Prior experience with Snowlfake, DataBricks, or other data warehouse solutions is preferred.

Experience with Python programming.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, or related field, from an accredited institution and four years of experience preferably including experience in accounting or budgeting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
