Apprentice Commercial Service Plumber - Licensed

Description

We are looking for hardworking apprentice commercial service plumber to assist our staff with basic plumbing installations and repairs. In this role, you will be supporting our qualified plumbers with their daily tasks. You may also be required to perform basic plumbing services such as replacing toilet rings and faucet washers. You should have a strong desire to learn, and detailed knowledge of plumbing techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Packing and sorting plumbing equipment for each job.
• Locating pipe leaks and preparing the work area.
• Getting tools needed for the task at hand.
• Cutting open walls and structures to expose pipes.
• Adjusting water pressure valves.
• Assisting Master Plumber with plumbing installations and repairs.
• Replacing faucet washers and toilet wax rings.
• Measuring, cutting, and threading pipes.
• Assist licensed journeyman plumbers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in commercial buildings, including piping systems, drainage systems, and fixtures.
• Learn to read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the layout of plumbing systems.
• Participate in troubleshooting plumbing issues and assist in diagnosing problems to provide effective solutions.
• Support the team in routine inspections and maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with local plumbing codes and safety regulations.
• Operate and maintain plumbing tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Document work performed and assist in keeping accurate records of tasks completed.
• Attend training sessions and workshops to improve plumbing skills and knowledge of industry standards.
• Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and clients regarding plumbing matters.

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Plumber Helper.
• Possess basic plumbing knowledge and an understanding of plumbing tools and techniques.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy materials and working in confined spaces.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
• Detailed knowledge of plumbing equipment and techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints.
• Good mechanical skills.
• Good physical fitness and dexterity.
• Critical thinker with good problem-solving abilities.
• Good listening and communication skills.
• Ability to work after-hours and on weekends. Rotating On Call Schedules.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Valid Driving License with a Clean driving record - company vechicle provided
• Ability to handle high-stress situations.
