Apprentice Database Administrator
Job Responsibilities:
- Oracle Platforms: Support 12.x Oracle EBS application database administration and environments.
- Contribute to technology vision roadmaps for all Oracle EBS technologies.
- Update and implement user security and roles within Oracle ERP Security based on functional documents provided by implementation and support team.
- Build custom security roles by tailoring Oracle seeded roles as per the business requirements.
- AIX, Linux Platforms: Server maintenance and system administration.
- Technical Platform servers and Database Support (i.e. WebLogic, Apache, OID): Support server upgrades to Oracle eBusiness Suite, provide server/database/middleware upgrade, support new and existing platform services, and work with IT developers and testers for upgrade task and compatibility checklist.
- Assist in design, upgrade and post upgrade support for Oracle databases and MS SQL server, evaluate Oracle database and SQL server security and implement security remediation, and assist in cloud migration of database and Middleware services.
- Performance Management: Support for various performance issues, provide database, Middleware, GoldenGate Replication tool, web services, network and server performance support using tools (i.e. SolarWind), develop and support server Disaster Recovery plan.
- General Functions: Develop and update project plans and provide technical support, for instance administration, release management, incident management, and routine upgrade support.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 8 years’ server management experience for AIX, Linux in SAN storage environment.
- 8 years’ experience with Oracle Database.
- 5 years’ experience with MS SQL server database.
- 5 years’ experience with supporting large server enterprise environment (minimum 100+ servers).
