APPRENTICE ELECTRICIAN

Purpose:

T&J Heating, A/C and Plumbing is a full-service heating, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing organization, providing new installation, repairs and ongoing maintenance services to commercial and residential clients throughout New England.  

As an Electrician Apprentice, you will embark on a training program under the guidance of an experienced electrician. You will gain hands on experience in various electrical tasks, including installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems. 

Responsibilities 

Direct supervision from a Master Electrician will be provided to meet the following responsibilities:

• Assisting Journeyman Electricians: Work alongside licensed electricians to learn and apply electrical trade skills.
• Basic Electrical Tasks: Perform tasks such as running conduit, pulling wire, installing electrical boxes, and connecting wiring to fixtures and equipment.
• Code Compliance:  Adhere to local electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Tool and Equipment Usage: Properly use hand and power tools, measuring  instruments, and other electrical equipment.
• Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on industry      standards and technologies.

Requirements:

• Maintain a valid Massachusetts Apprentice Electrician license
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and ability to drive a company truck or van
• Entry level experience with electrical repairs, maintenance and installation techniques
• Entry level knowledge of electrical codes
• Entry level ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations
• Novice understanding and ability to diagnose and resolve problems 
• Experience with using hand and power tools
• Experience with maintaining a safe work environment

• Good interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with customers, co-workers, and management
• Entry level troubleshooting skills with the ability, prioritize, and resolve problems
• Good personal time management skills both at customer sites and with completing of administrative tasks
